Gunnar Gundersen, managing partner at Gundersen & Gundersen LLP and contributing member of BCM, has been appointed to the California Advisory Committee of the United States Commision on Civil Rights (USCCR).
The news came Wednesday evening, alongside the committee announcements for a handful of other states.

The state committees are composed of volunteers familiar with local civil rights issues, and assist the Commission with investigating violations and promoting the work of the organization.
Gundersen, who manages his private practice with his wife Wendi, is a graduate of the Pepperdine University School of Law, and has been practicing law since 2007.
He is also a writer whose work can be found in various outlets, including The Catholic Thing, The American Mind, and Public Discourse.
Just over a week ago, news broke that Gundersen will be spearheading the first-ever Knights of Peter Claver council in Orange County, California. He is also the first Ordinariate member of the order.
He will serve a four-year term in his position as a USCCR state committee member, after which he can be extended for one more.
Nate Tinner-Williams is co-founder of Black Catholic Messenger, a priesthood applicant with the Josephites, and a ThM student w/ the Institute for Black Catholic Studies at Xavier University of Louisiana (XULA).
